How to find an outfit from a screenshot
Screenshots are where most outfit searches start. A few small habits make the difference between a perfect match and a pile of look-alikes.

AI illustrationIn short
- Take the screenshot at the largest, sharpest point: zoom in first, then capture.
- Keep captions, tags and @handles in the shot; they name pieces.
- Search one piece at a time.
- Save screenshots in an album so you can find them again.

Capture it well
- Zoom in before you capture. Zooming into a screenshot afterwards only enlarges the pixels.
- Wait for full resolution. On a slow connection, images load blurry first; give them a second.
- Avoid photos of screens. A photo of another screen adds glare and moiré patterns. Screenshot on the device instead.
Keep the text that helps
Text around a photo can name the piece better than the picture can: a caption that says “wearing my favourite trench”, an @handle of a brand, a shopping tag, a price tag in a shop window. Keep it in the screenshot. Style Finder reads text like this from the photo to help work out exactly what a piece is.
Search one piece at a time
Open the screenshot
In Style Finder, choose it from your library (with Style Finder Pro).
Choose a piece
Every piece it recognises is framed. Pick one, or drag the frame onto the piece you want.
Repeat for the rest
Go back and choose the next piece. Each search finds possible matches for that piece alone.
Keep your finds organised
Make an album for outfit screenshots, and delete them once you’ve found the piece. In Style Finder, saved pieces and recent finds keep the matches you liked, so the screenshot can go.
