Our October 2026 test included 20 pairs of shoes photographed in real life: worn, held and on the floor, from classic trainers to boots and clogs. Style Finder put the right model first for all 20. Read how we test for the method.
Tips for identifying shoes
- Photograph the side and the heel: panels, stripes and stitching set models apart.
- Include any writing on the shoe, such as a model name on the tongue or the heel.
- Clean shoes aren’t needed: worn and dirty pairs can still be identified, but a clear photo helps.
