What Style Finder does

You see a jacket on someone in a café, trainers in a magazine, a bag in a friend’s photo. Style Finder turns that moment into a search: point the camera at it or choose the photo, and the app picks out every piece it can see, from coats and dresses to shoes, bags, hats, sunglasses and watches.

Choose a piece and Style Finder looks for it in shops. You get a short list of possible matches, the closest first, each with a photo, the shop and a price in your currency. You can compare a match with your photo side by side, save the pieces you like and open the shop when you’re ready.

How it works

   It finds the pieces

   Google’s Gemini AI recognises the clothing, shoes and accessories in your photo and frames each one, so you can choose what to look for.

   It names likely products

   For the piece you choose, the AI works out what it is: its brand and product name when it can tell, or the closest designs when it can’t. Brand names and model numbers printed on the piece help it.

   It finds the shops

   A web search finds shops’ pages for each product, and our servers open those pages to check that they really sell that product and to read its price and photo.

4. 4

   It compares the photos

   Finally, each product’s photo is compared with yours, so the pieces that look the same rise to the top. Products without a photo aren’t shown: you should always be able to see what you’re choosing.

Your wardrobe and outfit ideas

With Style Finder Pro you can also photograph the clothes you own. The app cuts out each piece, names and sorts it, and builds your wardrobe. Ask “What should I wear?”, choose an occasion such as work or a wedding, or an activity such as running, hiking or walking the dog, and Style Finder puts outfits together from your own clothes for that day’s weather.

Your photos and privacy

• The app asks your permission before it sends any photo, and names the AI service it uses.
• We never use your photos to train AI models.
• Photos you don’t search from are deleted within about a day, and removing a find deletes its photos.
• Deleting your account deletes everything that belongs to it.
